NOTE: INITIAL TRAINING: 2 DAYS     |     RECURRENT TRAINING: 1 DAY

After successfully completing this program, delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the meaning of First Aid
  • Describe the role of the First Aider
  • List the steps involved in managing an emergency
  • Describe the basic physiology of the human body
  • Demonstrate First Aid for various respiratory emergencies
  • Demonstrate First Aid for emergencies affecting the circulatory system
  • Demonstrate First Aid for emergencies affecting tissues, organs and bones
  • Demonstrate how to use protective equipment while giving First Aid
  • Describe the meaning of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Demonstrate when and how to give CPR
  • Demonstrate how to contact and brief professional medical practitioners and emergency services.
  • List the contents and use of various items in the First Aid Kit.

  • ABC –Airway, Breathing, Circulation
  • Typical Workplace Hazards Leading To Accidents And First Aid
  • Illness and Injury Assessment
  • Immediate Actions by the First Aider Following An Accident.
  • The Recovery Position
  • Practical First Aid Class Exercises – Conditions Affecting Respiratory Systems
  • Conditions Affecting Circulatory Systems
  • Tissue, Organ and Bone Emergencies
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Administration and AED use
  • First Aid Videos; Assessment Test at 75% Pass Mark.
