Mallam Bello Ibrahim Gwandu MFR, FCITL, theTurakin Gwandu is a seasoned operator in both the public and the private sector, his education and training prepared him for that role. After his secondary education at home, he travelled to Britain where he attended institutions of higher learning, earning the Higher National Diploma in Business Studies from the Hammersmith and West London College and the PGD in Social Policy and Administration from the University College, Swansea. He capped these with a Master’s degree in Technology Policy from Aston University, Birmingham. Other qualifications came in the course of his service in many agencies.
M. Bello Gwandu first served as Administrative Officer in the Sokoto State Civil Service before berthing at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in 1983. There he truly found his métier; starting from the rank of Assistant Manager and traversing all areas of Port Operations, he became the Managing Director in 1999. That all-round experience earned him the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics.
